Counselling

Approaching a counsellor can feel a daunting prospect but counselling can provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space in which to explore problems, feelings and past experiences in our lives. Counselling can allow us to understand how we exist in our world and help us gain insight into the patterns of behaviour we have developed that may be inhibiting not only personal growth but also our relationships with others. Through this understanding we can create a platform for increased self-awareness and change.

Lisa and Claire have worked alongside one another for more than 10 years. They run a private practice counselling service from the Back 0n Track clinic in SW19 where they see self-referred and private health company referred clients, (including Nuffield Health, AXA, CIC, Sigma and Aviva).

Lisa and Claire trained together at Middlesex University where they both achieved a First-Class Honours Degree in Integrative Counselling. An integrative approach means using a wide range of counselling techniques, including CBT, to address the specific needs of the client. With more than 10 years’ experience in providing face-to-face and remote counselling, they have experience in treating a huge range of presenting issues – including depression, anxiety, bereavement and trauma.

Lisa and Claire also work together as the lead counsellors for the City of London Police. The emphasis of the work there is around trauma and psychological fitness for the role officers need to perform. In addition, they have much experience in dealing with issues that arise in the workplace and can work alongside clients to help them understand how to better manage their responses.

The clinic provides a safe and confidential space to work on any aspects of life that may seem challenging. Having a regular time and space within which difficulties can be safely and openly explored without fear of judgement, criticism or embarrassment can be the key to enabling change and development. Our aim in the way we work with clients is to provide a warm and empathetic environment which encourages processing and transformation towards a more satisfying life.
