Alison’s path to massage therapy began in her teens when she was successfully treated by an osteopath for a repetitive strain injury from playing the viola. After completing a music degree and several years of receptionist work, she qualified and practised as an osteopath for 12 years. Alison valued the integrated approach to health, considering how each patient has used their body over time alongside health beliefs and psychological factors. Her passion has always been soft tissue work to relieve tension, and in 2018 she moved into massage therapy after gaining an ITEC Diploma in Massage. She combines traditional Swedish massage with techniques learnt as an osteopath, including deep tissue, trigger point, muscle energy and joint articulation. Alison added reflexology in 2023, qualifying with distinction. She has a special interest in treating musicians and understands repetitive strain from long rehearsals and performance.
